Mayancolour dog collars are all handmade by artisans from Chiapas, Mexico. These collars are a contemporary use of traditional Mayan techniques to create unique and practical products. The Macrame from these collars was custom made by a group of local artisans from a small village called Belasario Domingues, two hours north of San Cristobal. The talented women spend many hours on the macrame for each collar, meticulously recreating the traditional patterns passed on from their ancestors. The macrame is then attached to heavy duty Leather dog collars fabricated locally in San Cristobal by leather craftsmen to create a unique bespoke piece for mans best friend.
